American online streamer and YouTube personality Darren Watkins Jr., popularly known as IShowSpeed, shared a humorous moment with Seyi Tinubu, the son of President Bola Tinubu, during the 2026 FIFA World Cup final.
The interaction took place in the VIP section of the stadium, where Seyi Tinubu attended the championship match alongside his children and other family members. Spain defeated Argentina 1-0 after extra time to lift the 2026 FIFA World Cup trophy.
Earlier in the day, IShowSpeed featured in the tournament’s closing ceremony, opening the pre-match entertainment with a performance of his latest song, “World Cup (Champions),” accompanied by drummers and dancers.
During his livestream from the event, a member of Seyi Tinubu’s entourage informed the popular content creator that the President’s son was seated nearby. The 21-year-old streamer then approached the family, greeted Seyi Tinubu, posed for photographs with the children and exchanged friendly conversation.
“It is nice meeting you,” Seyi Tinubu said after shaking hands with the American internet personality. In a playful response that quickly drew laughter from those nearby, IShowSpeed joked, “Tell your dad to get me a Nigerian passport!” before continuing with his livestream.
The light-hearted remark has since attracted attention online, with clips of the exchange circulating across social media platforms. The IShowSpeed Nigerian passport joke comes several months after the streamer visited Nigeria during his Speed Does Africa tour.
During his stay in Lagos, the online personality received an enthusiastic welcome from fans and livestreamed visits to several notable locations, including Lagos Island, Freedom Park and the Nike Art Gallery. He also met Nigerian music stars Davido and Zlatan Ibile, while celebrating his 21st birthday during the visit.
The latest interaction at the World Cup final further highlights the growing connection between the American content creator and his Nigerian fan base, with the IShowSpeed Nigerian passport remark adding another memorable moment to his relationship with the country.
