BBNaija Season 11 premieres today, Sunday, July 26, marking the return of one of Africa’s most-watched reality television shows. The new edition, themed “Everything Is For The Taking,” is expected to run for 10 weeks, featuring a new group of housemates competing for the largest prize in the programme’s history. Millions of viewers are expected to tune in for the launch as the identities of this season’s contestants remain undisclosed until the opening show.
Organisers have announced a ₦160 million grand prize package, comprising ₦100 million in cash and a brand-new SUV. The prize surpasses those offered in previous editions, making it the highest reward since the reality series began. Contestants will compete through weekly challenges, nominations and evictions as they seek to emerge as the winner of BBNaija Season 11.
As in previous seasons, the names and identities of the housemates have been kept confidential before the premiere. The approach is intended to build anticipation among viewers ahead of the contestants’ official introduction into the Big Brother house.
Media personality Ebuka Obi-Uchendu returns as the host of the reality show. In addition to presenting the live eviction and launch programmes, Ebuka’s appearances have become a notable feature of the series, with audiences often anticipating his fashion choices during major broadcasts.
The launch programme is scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m. (WAT) today. Viewers can watch the premiere live on Africa Magic Showcase (DStv Channel 151) and Africa Magic Family (DStv Channel 154 and GOtv Channel 7).
For audiences who prefer online streaming, the premiere will also be available through the DStv Stream and GOtv Stream applications on compatible smartphones, tablets and smart televisions. The streaming platforms provide subscribers with access to the programme from supported internet-enabled devices.
Following the launch event, viewers will be able to watch uninterrupted activities inside the Big Brother house through the dedicated 24-hour live broadcast available on DStv Channel 198 and GOtv Channel 49. The live channel will provide continuous coverage of the contestants’ daily interactions, tasks and competitions throughout the season.
