As preparations for the 2027 general elections gather momentum, Senator Hope Uzodimma, Director-General of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors (RHA), is set to inaugurate the organisation’s RHA Diaspora Youth platform and officially swear in coordinators of its Diaspora Youth Directorate in Toronto, Canada.
The inauguration is scheduled for Monday, August 10, 2026, at the Ontario Investment and Trade Centre in Toronto and will be attended by RHA directors and other leaders of the organisation.
In a statement, the Director of Youth, Renewed Hope Ambassadors, Dr. Mustapha Abdullahi, who is also the Director-General of the Energy Commission of Nigeria, said the initiative reflects increasing support from Nigerians abroad for President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda.
According to him, the launch of the RHA Diaspora Youth platform is designed to mobilise young Nigerians living overseas to contribute to national development, youth leadership, civic participation and economic transformation.
“The RHA Diaspora Youth platform comes as a strategic vehicle for mobilising young Nigerians across the world to contribute to nation-building, youth leadership, civic engagement and economic transformation,” he said.
Dr. Abdullahi added that the platform demonstrates the important role Nigerians in the diaspora continue to play in supporting the administration’s vision of building a more prosperous and globally competitive nation.
He noted that the initiative aligns with President Tinubu’s commitment to harnessing Nigeria’s human capital for sustainable national development, stressing that the country’s greatest strength lies in the resilience, innovation and entrepreneurial abilities of its citizens.
The youth director also acknowledged the contributions of Nigerians living abroad, saying they have continued to excel in sectors such as business, technology, medicine, academia and public service, strengthening Nigeria’s global reputation.
According to him, the inauguration further expands the reach of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors while promoting youth empowerment, national unity, good governance and economic growth through a global network of committed Nigerians.
Following their inauguration, the newly appointed coordinators will receive mobilisation resources and digital tools to support their activities. These include personalised recruitment codes, QR-enabled registration links, digital mobilisation toolkits and performance-monitoring dashboards.
As part of their performance expectations, each coordinator is required to recruit at least 50 verified members within the first 30 days of assuming office.
Dr. Abdullahi reaffirmed the commitment of the Youth Directorate to excellence, integrity and inclusive leadership, noting that the organisation remains focused on encouraging greater youth participation in national affairs.
He also thanked Nigerian youths both at home and in the diaspora for their continued support and urged them to remain united while contributing to Nigeria’s development in line with the objectives of the Renewed Hope agenda.
