The Presidency has unveiled a 108-member APC Presidential Campaign Council ahead of the January 2027 elections. President Bola Tinubu will chair the council, while Vice President Kashim Shettima will serve as vice chairman.
The list was announced on Saturday by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy. Former Zamfara State Governor, Senator Abdulaziz Yari, was appointed Director-General of the campaign council. Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, will serve as secretary.
APC National Chairman, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, will also serve as vice chairman. The party’s National Secretary, Senator Ajibola Bashiru, and Hadiza Bala-Usman were named deputy and assistant secretaries respectively.
Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Speaker Tajudeen Abbas and Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni will serve as deputy directors-general. They will oversee campaign coordination in the southern and northern parts of the country.
Senator Bamidele Opeyemi and Senator Jibril Barau will also support the zonal coordination structure. Senator Adams Oshiomhole was appointed deputy director-general for mobilisation. The President’s Chief of Staff will oversee administration as deputy director-general.
James Abiodun Faleke, who played a key role in the 2022/2023 campaign, returns as deputy director-general for election planning, coordination and monitoring. He will work with directors assigned to the six geopolitical zones.
Senator Olushola Adeyeye will coordinate the South-West. Dr Ngozi Olejeme will oversee the South-South, while Senator Uche Ekwunife will coordinate the South-East.
Muntaqha Rabe was named coordinator for the North-West. Ahmed Muhammed Ketso will oversee the North-Central, while Senator Sani Danladi will coordinate the North-East. Stella Okotete, Abdullahi Garba Ramat and Audu Maikori will serve as secretaries within the election planning directorate.
Muiz Adeyemi Banire will head the legal directorate. Dr Liman Hassan and Babatunde Ogala will serve as his deputies. Other members of the legal team include Attorney-General Lateef Fagbemi, former Katsina Governor Ibrahim Shema, Worgu Boms and Dr Kingsley Tochukwu Udeh.
Minister of Information and National Orientation Mohammed Idris Malagi was named coordinating director for media and strategic communication. He will work alongside Dele Alake, Bayo Onanuga and Lanre Issa-Onilu. Tunde Rahman, Sunday Dare, Daniel Bwala and Felix Morka were appointed coordinating deputy directors.
Abdulaziz AbdulAziz, Temitope Ajayi, Arabinrin Aderonke and Frederick Nwabufor will serve as coordinating secretaries. Segun Dada returns as Director of New Media, having performed the same role during the 2022 campaign.
Solomon Arowolo was appointed secretary of New Media. The campaign also named five spokespersons, with Dele Alake leading the team. Others are Alwan Hassan, Ayobami Oyalowo, Kemi Asekun-Shittu and Adamu Fanda.
According to Onanuga, President Tinubu has charged members of the APC Presidential Campaign Council to work tirelessly towards victory in the January 2027 elections.
He also urged directorate heads to bring other party members into the campaign effort, even if they were not formally listed. The Presidency said the administration had delivered on its campaign promises and placed Nigeria on a path towards economic progress.
It urged the campaign team to highlight the administration’s achievements and present its record to voters. Tinubu also called on members to inspire confidence among Nigerians while confronting opposition forces seeking to return the country to what the administration described as its former difficulties.
