
Osun State University (UNIOSUN) has appointed Professor Alamu Oguntola as the Acting Provost of its Postgraduate College, a move aimed at strengthening leadership and advancing the institution’s postgraduate academic programmes. The appointment, approved by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Clement Adebooye, took effect on Monday, January 5, 2026, according to a statement released on Friday by the university’s Public Relations Officer, Ademola Adesoji.
Professor Alamu, from the Department of Mechanical Engineering, will lead the Postgraduate College as UNIOSUN continues efforts to enhance the quality of postgraduate education. The university highlighted his extensive academic career, spanning 26 years in teaching, research, and university administration, as central to his new role.
In the official statement, Adesoji noted that the Vice-Chancellor “congratulated Professor Alamu on his appointment, highlighting his exceptional academic credentials, administrative experience, and global research collaborations as assets that will enhance the strategic growth and academic reputation of UNIOSUN’s Postgraduate College.”
