Nigeria’s inflation rate eased further in July 2026, falling to 15.43 percent from the 15.91 percent recorded in June. The latest figure was disclosed by the National Bureau of Statistics in its Consumer Price Index report for July 2026 released on Monday.
According to the NBS, the July figure represents a decline of 0.48 percentage points from the rate recorded in June. The agency also reported a substantial year-on-year decline compared with the corresponding period of 2025.
“In July 2026, the Headline inflation rate stood at 15.43%, down from 15.91% in June 2026 and stood at 24.94% in the same month of the preceding year (July 2025),” the NBS stated.
The latest data means Nigeria’s headline inflation has continued to moderate when compared with the significantly higher rate recorded a year earlier. In July 2025, the inflation rate stood at 24.94 percent.
The development comes as households and businesses continue to contend with changes in the prices of goods and services across the economy. The latest Nigeria inflation rate data provides an updated picture of price movements and the broader direction of inflation in the country.
The NBS Consumer Price Index measures changes in the prices consumers pay for a basket of goods and services and serves as Nigeria’s principal gauge of headline inflation. The July figures are expected to provide fresh economic indicators for policymakers, businesses and households as they assess the direction of prices and purchasing power in the months ahead.
