The United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has announced plans to deport Nigerian Man Ayodeji Olamide Ajayi following allegations of visa overstay and multiple criminal offences recorded during his stay in the country. ICE said the action is part of ongoing enforcement targeting undocumented immigrants with criminal records.
According to ICE, Ajayi entered the United States in 2007 on a student visa but later left school and failed to leave the country after his authorised stay expired. The agency said his continued presence in the US led to several legal violations and criminal cases over time.
In a statement posted on X on Monday night, ICE said the decision to deport Nigerian Man Ajayi follows what it described as a “lengthy rap sheet” accumulated during his stay. The agency listed offences including domestic violence, trespassing, intimidation, and obstruction.
ICE stated:
“Ayodeji Olamide Ajayi, of Nigeria, entered the United States in 2007 on a student visa and eventually left school, but failed to leave the country.”
“Instead, he stayed in the U.S. and got to work on a lengthy rap sheet that includes convictions such as: Domestic violence, Trespassing, Intimidation, and Obstruction.”
The agency further alleged additional serious charges including kidnapping, rape, and family neglect.
“His criminal history also includes these egregious charges: Kidnapping, Rape, and Family neglect.” ICE said the deportation will proceed as part of wider efforts to remove individuals classified as “criminal illegal aliens” under US immigration enforcement operations.
Authorities said the deport Nigerian Man process forms part of a broader crackdown on undocumented migrants with alleged criminal backgrounds. However, ICE did not provide detailed court records or clarify the jurisdictions where the alleged offences occurred, nor did it specify the current legal status of the more serious allegations.
The case adds to ongoing immigration enforcement measures in the United States, particularly those involving visa overstays and individuals with prior convictions. It also reflects continued scrutiny of immigration compliance and public safety concerns linked to undocumented residency.
